Perhaps the most colorful cricketer in the history of the game, Shane Warne excels in hitting the headlines for his off field antics as much as he does for the on field ones! From being the only bowler ever to claim 650 wickets to being banned for drug usage, Shane Warne has done it all.

Shane Warne made his debut for Australia in 1992 and since has emerged as the country’s premium bowler. His Leg break googlies have tricked batsman all over the world and on his day, Warne can be truly invincible. His performance just keeps getting better with time and every time he is down, he seems to bounce back with almost an unsaid defiance. This was evident when he returned to international cricket after a one year ban for use of drugs in 2004 and ran through the Sri Lankan side, claiming 26 wickets in 3 Tests. He also holds the record of taking 96 international wickets in a year. In his long and largely successful career, Warne has played 140 Tests, taking 685 wickets and has also taken 293 ODI wickets in 194 matches.

His career has also been marked by a lot of controversies, most of it happening outside the cricket field. He was been accused of infidelity, drug usage, indecent behavior and a host of other allegations have come up against him, leading him to once famously saying that the story of his life could be made into a soap opera. But whatever his personal issues are, it can never be denied that Shane Warne is perhaps one of the greatest cricketers of the modern era.
